Safety notes

Decoder implementations are still young; CVEs have started to surface. Keep OSes and browsers up to date.

Common mistakes

Chrome removed JPEG XL support in late 2022. You can still enable it via Canary flags, but public delivery is premature.
Lossless transcoding from JPEG is a headline feature, but ICC profile and metadata handling vary by implementation.
