FileHint

FileHint editorial team

Who runs FileHint — the editorial structure and legal operator.

How the editorial team is organised

The FileHint editorial team is made up of contributors fluent in file formats, operating systems, browser internals, and security. We do not publish individual names, but every article is reviewed against the following roles:

  • Writer: drafts the article, gathers primary sources, verifies magic bytes.
  • Technical review: reproduces OS/browser behaviour, CLI steps, and code.
  • Editorial review: consistent terminology, locale-independent translation, heading structure, internal links.
  • Final approval: source coverage, safety language, alignment with our corrections policy.

The concrete verification steps are documented in the editorial policy.
